SFDF is collaborating with Mercedes Benz to produce a high end intimates fashion show in promotion of the Saskatoon dealership. This event will be billed as a Mercedes Benz event, is booked for Saturday, October 5th and is a paid opportunity for models ($50 per model plus gift).
The model call is scheduled for Sunday, Sept 8th in The Two-Twenty Den (220 20th Street W). Models are asked to fill out the online application, which will act as their RSVP for this casting.
MODEL CALL DAY SCHEDULE:
9am to 1pm: Model call
1pm to 2pm: Model selection and casting
2pm: Selected models posted via email, at The Two-Twenty, and through a private Facebook message to event attendees
4pm: Selected models to return for team meetings with stylists, and hair/makeup teams. We project approximately 1 hour for the team meetings.
Further time commitments for the show will be addressed at the model call by your team leader (stylist). Each model will be booked to walk only once for the show. We are seeking a total of 40 models.
Please note there is a minimum age requirement to participate in this show. All models must be 19 years of age or older! Models are asked to wear a bikini top, work-out shorts with heels to this casting.
Midtown Plaza was kind enough to think of me to act as a stylist and personal shopper for C95’s Bachelorette! Essentially, the premise of C95’s Bachelorette comes from the popular network cable TV show where 5 eligible bachelors vie for the hand of one supremely lovely bachelorette. Each gentlemen receives the opportunity to a one-on-one date to swoon their date to oblivion! As it would happen, I was able to tag along in the entourage for the first hour and half as a personal shopping guide through Midtown Plaza. Catch a taste of happened below!
My style choices were a mix of spring trends and great transitional pieces that could work through every season. (More on this next week!)
But the real question is did this young (would-be-couple) find love? That remains to be seen, however, I certainly felt a burgeoning friendship forming during my brief time with them. Fingers crossed that we hear wedding bells one day!
The Christmas break meant delicious food, warm cozy living rooms, family and friends gathering, but also logo re-vamp! I have officially launched my new Trend Blazer logo - complete with un-used photos from my FASHION Magazine shoot with the incredibly talented Carey Shaw. It’s a new year, a new look, and I am very much looking forward to the exciting months ahead!
This fall has been a whirlwind to say the least! Since accepting a permanent full-time position with Saskatchewan Jazz Festival, as of November, my professional world has been completely overhauled. I no longer reside at The Two-Twenty (I now call the Delta Bessborough my daytime abode), I am maintaining a select group of clients whom I would miss working with far too much, and I am working on numerous fashion events in Saskatoon. One of which includes a large charity fundraiser for Dress for Success on March 7th.
The hectic pace of this “trend blazing” life generally makes for long days and endless numbers of meetings, but I must say this heavily involved lifestyle is a way-of-life. And I will be using this blog as my way to remember all the different projects I work on (believe me I feel like I’ve forgotten many already!)
After wrapping up my final dance class tonight I looked at my watch and thought I could still make it to the Broadway Theatre to catch Diana Vreeland’s bio-documentary. I made it through the door as the opening credits rolled - success!
It’s safe to say that Diana is my new heroine and someone that I will forever idolize and attempt to emulate. Her unequivocal perception and instincts will influence not only my dressing choices, but my career path for years to come.
I’m always happiest when I’m on set. Collaborating with creative people, spending weeks prepping, sharing the vision with the models and watching the hairstylist and makeup artist transform them all while the stylist creates magical looks for that quiet moment on set is where the dream becomes…
